100th Post...ALREADY!! (...and Two For Tuesday)

My maternal grandparents have 14 grandchildren and Timmy is their 6th great-grandchild. Every grandchild and every great-grandchild has received the biggest bunny my grandparents could find for their first Easter...this year, even with my grandmother being sick and just recently home from the hospital...Timmy got his bunny - and he loves it!

So, after my interview with Katie from yesterday, Katie decided she LOVED being asked questions - but when we were all done she told me she had to ask ME some questions (this was apparently all she needed before telling me that she wants "to talk" everytime we are in the car now and that she "has some questions for me") But since I'm all famous, now that I have a blog with 100 posts, I figured it was appropriate to share the transcript from the first time I was "interviewed" by my 3 1/2 year old....and I think these pictures are just the perfect introduction to the questions she asked...(I should also add that she picked out this skirt at the store. She "had to have it"...what am I in store for?)

1) Katie: What makes me so happy mommy?
Me:Ice cream
Katie: YEEEAHHH!

2) Katie: What makes me so sad mommy?
Me: When it’s your last tv show before bed
Katie: Noooo – When I go to time out

3) Katie: What my favorite food is?
Me: Ice cream
Katie: Noooo
Me: Meat?
Katie: ah HUH!

4) Katie: My next question is who loves me?
Me: Mommy loves you
Katie: Noooo (goes right into next question)

5) Katie: Who plays hide and seeks with me all the time at my house?
Me: Daddy?
Katie: Nooo – YOU mommy!

6) Katie: My next question is tickle somebody...(I tickle her)

7) Katie: My next question is after you go to the potty...wipe yourself...

8) Katie: My next question is who gets me of your car?
Me: I do?

9) Katie: Who put the light off and on?
Me: Ahhh, mommy?
Katie: No … ME!

10) Katie: My next question is ummmm – sorry mommy – I have asked all my questions.

Funny how this was my first interview as a famous person and all the questions were about her :)

Easter Flowers Makes My Monday...plus an interview with Katie

Every year as the house fills with the smell of heaven I remember why I love making Easter flower baskets for my mom and grandmom. Late Easter Eve and until we leave our house on Easter Day, every time I go downstairs I am instantly happy because the hyacinths have smelled up the whole downstairs. Yum!!!! Getting to still smell the leftover few hyacinths at my house the next day really Makes My Monday!!! (Make sure you stop by Twinfatuation to see who else is playing along.)
I also love getting that picture of the goodies just as the Easter Bunny has hopped away...amazing how we moms know when the Easter Bunny has already come so we can grab a picture before the morning...also amazing that the mom's shopping obsession equally inspires the Easter Bunny to over buy at our house...also amazing that the Easter Bunny actually left Katie a letter this year telling her that her playroom was so messy that he had to hide eggs in the basement this year.

The kids sure seemed to enjoy their goodies from the Easter Bunny.

Katie LOVED finding all the Easter Eggs - she'd been looking forward to that for days. The Easter Bunny was pretty tricky this year and it didn't slow her down for a minute...she especially loved finding that last one that even I couldn't find (go figure, sleepy mommy!)

Timmy got to play with a truck for the first time and loved the assortment of stuffed animals and chewing toys he got!

And in honor of my countdown to my 100th post (posting tomorrow), here's a little interview with Katie to wet your whistle (speaking of whistles, Katie and I went to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in Philly last night and it was AWESOME...toot, toot, the candy that toots...I know those aren't the actual words, but you know what I mean). This is from the "Facebook Note" being passed around in cyberspace and I've recorded Katie exactly as she answered.

1. What is something mom always says to you to do? I don’t KNOW…ummmmmm….you can have ice cream when you’re food’s ALL gone!

2. What makes mom happy? When I stop screaming (after another answer that I didn’t understand a word of and I asked again)

3. What makes mom sad? screaming

4. How does your mom make you laugh? Tickles you

5. What was your mom like as a child? She did big girl things

6. How old is your mom? 7

7. How tall is your mom? Um…8

8. What is her favorite thing to do? Ahhh.ooops, I gotta go potty. I gotta go poopy really really bad. 2nd try at question – your favorite thing to do is be tickled (and then tickles me)

9. What does your mom do when you're not around? You have to work (note that I've been "not" working since the end of August 2008)

10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for? Um, I don’t know – making something (me:making what?) A mess (me: A mess?) Ahh, playing dress up.

11. What is your mom really good at? At making something (me: making what?) a tea party.

12. What is your mom not very good at? I don’t know. You not good at taking medicine.

13. What does your mom do for her job? Making something…like a machine – a new machine mommy. (note that I am really unemployed CPA currently masquerading as a stay-at-home-mom).

14. What is your mom's favorite food? peas (huh?!?!)

15. What makes you proud of your mom? Um, happy

16. If your mom was a cartoon character, who would she be? Dorothy (as in the Wizard of Oz)

17. What do you and your mom do together? Be happy all together time

18. How are you and your mom the same? We’re girls – just mommy and katie

Friday Foto Finish Fiesta - Happy Easter!

Does anyone else wish they could have a computer chip implanted in them so as they're doing things like driving or showering and thinking about all the things they've done and want to blog about, that they could just have their thoughts automatically converted to said blog? There are so many things I want to share, yet I find myself getting just a very small fraction up here. Some day I'll just sit for awhile and get a bunch of pre-posting done - hopefully! But in the midst of loads of fun around our house, I took some advice from Debi and chose to do an impromptu photo shoot yesterday...by MYSELF!! What was I thinking?!?! I am neurotic when it comes to getting great pictures and I have always arrived for planned photo sessions with examples of shots I want to get in hand. Well yesterday I decided to head up to the mall to get Timmy some big boy shoes for Easter and his Christening (May 24th) and dropped in at Sears to beg an unscheduled photo session (it was hard, they were packed - but they squeezed me in!). We even got to see the Easter Bunny!!!!

Overall I was pretty pleased, except that Katie's hair was a mess in almost every picture and the pictures that I thought had Timmy smiling when I saw them tiny, actually were NOT smiles. Of course, the little bugger was ALL smiles after the picture taking while we were waiting for them to process!!! (Does it make me evil to have been secretly happy watching all the kids after us be equally unpleasant for THEIR moms - just so my kids weren't the only ones?!?!)

And finally, my unrelated point of the day...we got a new car last Friday. I traded in my Sonata (for a ridiculous and pitiful amount of money) and got a Hyundai Vera Cruz. My Sonata, gave me 7 great years. It was actually still running fine, but I was a little nervous since I had just crossed over 100,000 miles. So, you know how to tell you are RIDICULOUSLY out of shape?!? Switch from a car to a small SUV for a few days. If your butt hurts after 2 days from climbing in and out of the car, you deserve to have someone take you out back and shoot you - just like me!!!
