5 Months Old - Teething and Talking

Friday, April 10, 2009

Our big boy is 5 months old! Where did the time go? Mr. Handsome has been a busy boy this month. He got his first tooth, swam for the first time, and got to meet the Easter Bunny. He's babbling up a storm (I've definately heard maaaa - I swear!) and LOVES his jumperoo. He still doesn't seem to turn from back to belly but he can scoot himself from one side of the room to the other. When I pick him up, he wraps his arms around my neck super tightly and hugs me close like a little monkey.

The absolutely funniest thing he does is go crazy if we swing some kind of clothing or blanket over him. It somehow started in the morning with Chris putting him on the bed while he put his undershirt on. Timmy would light up when he saw the undershirt come out and Chris started playing peek-a-boo with him. Then he started laying the shirt over Timmy's face and dragging it down his belly. There is just something about that makes Timmy laugh in fits. So today, I realized just how crazy he is. He was laying on the floor playing with toys while I was folding laundry on the bed. Every single time I picked out something big from the basket, like a towel or one of my or Chris's shirts he went NUTS! He started breathing really quickly and loudly in excitement...so of course I thought it was so cute that I brought it over to tickle over his face and pull down his belly, and I learned....it doesn't get old....he will willingly play that game all day long and squeal in delight every single time. And Chris wonders why the only chore I can get done in a day is laundry....

On another note, we've developed lots of nicknames around here for this little munchkin including:

Tim
Timmy
Timmy Tim Tim (Katie started that one)
Mr. Tim
Timbo
Mr. Handsome
Bubba
Bub(s)
Chubs
Wacko :) (or Mr. Wacko)
Little Boy (another of Katie's favorites)
Big Boy (yes, we're a bit contradictory around here)
Mr. Ears/Dumbo (ok..that was really only about once before I got yelled at by Chris)

...quite an assortment compared to Katie's regulars of Katie, Katie Pie, Katie Bear and Peanut Butter.

P.S. If you look closely at the picture above (or click on it to make it bigger), you can see his new little chicklet poking up on the bottom.

It's so amazing how quick it's going! What a big boy he's becoming.
For the record, when I talk about Timmy, I call him " Mr Chunks". LOL
